The Meteorological Department, Srinagar, has forecast mostly dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from April 22 to 30, with intermittent brief thundershowers expected on the afternoons of April 21, 24, and 25.
According to the official bulletin, the region is unlikely to witness any major weather activity during this period.
For today, April 21, the department predicted generally cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain, thunder, and gusty winds at scattered locations in the Kashmir division and isolated parts of Jammu.
The weather is expected to remain generally dry on April 22 and 23. However, brief spells of thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds and hailstorms, have been forecast for April 24 and 25. From April 26 to 30, conditions are expected to stabilise with no significant rainfall activity.
In view of the recent spell of continuous rainfall over the past three days, the department has issued an advisory, warning of the possibility of landslides, shooting stones, and rockfalls, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Farmers across the Union Territory have been advised to resume agricultural operations from April 22 onwards, as weather conditions are expected to improve.
“All concerned are advised to plan accordingly and follow administrative and traffic advisories,” the statement from the Meteorological Centre Srinagar read.
The public has also been urged to remain indoors and take necessary precautions during periods of thunder, lightning, and strong winds.
