The night as well as the day temperature improved at multiple places across the Valley while the weatherman has improved dip in the mercury amidst no forecast of any significant activities till December 10.
Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort was coldest in Kashmir at minus 3.0 degree Celsius.
Srinagar, however, recorded a slight improvement as against 4.5 degree Celsius last night, the mercury has settled at 4.8 degree Celsius.
In Qazigund, the mercury settled at 3.4 degree Celsius against 2.2 degree Celsius on the previous night.
The data prepared by the Meteorological department here reads that Pahalgam has recorded a low of minus 0.4 degree Celsius against the previous night’s 0.5 degree Celsius.
Kupwara and Kokernag stations have recorded a minimum temperature of 2.3 degree Celsius and 2.2 degree Celsius respectively.
Nonetheless, almost all the stations across Kashmir have recorded a slight improvement in the temperature with Srinagar recording 13.3 degree Celsius today against yesterday’s 10.0 degree Celsius.
In Qazigund, a maximum temperature of 12.0 degree Celsius was recorded against yesterday’s 7.4 degree Celsius, the data reads, adding in Pahalgam, the mercury settled at 11.2 degree Celsius against yesterday’s 7.1 degree Celsius.
Kupwara recorded a maximum temperature of 14.3 degree Celsius against yesterday’s 12.2 degree Celsius while Kokernag recorded 9.5 degree Celsius against last day’s 7.0 degree Celsius.
Gulmarg also recorded a slight improvement today as the mercury against yesterday’s 1.2 degree Celsius, settled at 2.0 degree Celsius.
Director Meteorological department (MeT), Dr Mukhtar Ahmad told KNO that the minimum temperature is expected to plummet in Kashmir while the weather conditions are expected to remain dry and cloudy till December 10.
The weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy till December 07 following which the weather conditions would remain partly to generally cloudy till December 10—(KNO)
