Even in this world of exponential growth, technology and modernity mental health is still by and large considered to be attention seeking and quite not a big deal. Owing to this toxic stigma so many people suffer in silence. Depression is one of the leading causes of disability. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds. People with severe mental health conditions die prematurely as much as two decades early due to unpreventable physical conditions.of Our brains can replay conversations, situations and worries over and over again or many a times we ruminate on problems which don’t even exist in reality. Mental health is completely underrated and not taken seriously enough until it gets to a point where we crack. Physical activities go a long way in combating mental illness. Research has found that regular physical activity appears as effective as psychotherapy for treating mild to moderate depression. Acknowledging depression and anxiety takes bravery. Anyone can have a bad day but what matters is how are we going to deal with it.

Moreover it is estimated more than 50% of the population is likely to get diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. Being healthy emotionally and mentally can promote productivity and selfcare. Self care is extremely important when it comes to mental health concerns. One should love oneself enough so that the selfish motives of toxic people and challenging situations don’t get hold of us. Self empowerment is the key and once we feel our relationships or situations are getting undoubtedly toxic we should possess the grit to get rid of those and afterwards learn to heal and cope first. It takes a lot of effort and discipline but we should not quit. Therapists report that patients exercising regularly feel better and are less likely to overeat or abuse alcohol and drugs. Making the right nutritional choices also has a positive impact on our mental health. Other ways to adhere to improving mental health are relaxation techniques, setting realistic goals and maintaining a healthy lifestyle .
