The residents of Markipora, Pattan area of north Kashmir,s district Baramulla on Tuesday expressed dismay over the dilapidated condition of the inner link road in the village.
The residents speaking to Good Morning Kashmir said that, despite passing of fifteen years, the concerned department has not repaired the road, in 2020 deptt of R&B assured that the road will be fully macadamised, but has been covered with soft soil which reflects a look of a ‘riverbank’ during rainfall.
In the past, we had approached the authorities demanding macadamization of the link road but despite promises, no work was done”, said Jalal ud din Dar, a local resident.

”This was the road built decades ago, and since then it is a victim of official neglect”, he said.
We want to know what has stopped the administration from upgrading the road for years. The government makes tall claims of progress but there is nothing on the ground in our village. We urge the administration to repair and macadamize the road on priority,” locals said.
