Finally, time has come that youngsters have realized that chasing government jobs is a futile exercise. Years ago, literate people in the valley used to apply for different posts but only a few got selected which lead to disappointments and heartbreak. Youngsters tried so hard to become government employees but couldn’t make it because of the shortage of vacancies. Educated people made several attempts but failed every time. They became hopeless. This not only wasted their precious years of life but resulted in self-doubt and failure. Time has changed now and so has the youth of Kashmir. The modern youth is creative, multi-talented, and self-sufficient. They hardly run after Government jobs. Their idea of employment is different from the youth in the past. Nowadays, both men and women are working as entrepreneurs, artists, calligraphers, company employees, food sellers, mehendi artists, etc. Educated girls have started their own boutiques and the rest have set up their businesses as bakers and so on. We often see videos of girls baking cookies, pastries, and cakes of different designs and flavors. Recently, a young educated man made sensational wazwan pickles which became famous and created buzz in Kashmir. It is for the first time that this type of pickles were made. This dish has sparked curiosity among people. They are seen in queues to try the latest dish. Likewise, there are thousands of literate people who have started their own businesses to become financially independent. These are the people who should be appreciated by the people. They have proved their skills to the world. Not only this but some youngsters are working outside UT in the most reputed companies and earning handsome salaries. They are also working in foreign countries and are getting better perks than Government employees. There are few youngsters who still sit idle at home and want to do nothing. Creative people know how to make money instantly. They have understood that getting a Government job is really hard. It consumes the time of the candidates leaving them hopeless. Hence, youngsters must set up their own business avenues and trusts their guts. They must polish their skills and stay focused on positive things to become better citizens in the near future. This will decline the rate of unemployment in the valley.
