Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed on Tuesday that a significant portion of JK House in Delhi was allocated to Ladakh as part of the asset distribution following the implementation of the Reorganization Act 2019.
Responding to a query from NC legislator Tanveer Sadiq in the Assembly, Abdullah stated that while a major section of JK House was given to Ladakh, land had been acquired in Dwarka for constructing a new facility to address the shortfall.
When asked about the inclusion of local cuisine in these government houses, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of preserving cultural heritage, assuring that both traditional cuisine and architecture would be incorporated.
During the discussion, legislator Nazir Ahmad Gurezi inquired whether properties in Chandigarh had also been allocated to Ladakh. Abdullah confirmed this, adding that the asset division was conducted through mutual agreement to avoid prolonged disputes, as seen in other states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
