Inhabitants of Maisuma area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar here on Tuesday expressed dismay over the dilapidated condition of inner roads in the area.
The residents speaking to Good Morning Kashmir said the roads in this area are in shambles and despite regular requests to concerned departments the damaged roads have been left unattended.

“The link roads in our area are in poor condition. There are potholes all over the place. Every year, the government conducts blacktopping, yet it pays no attention to our road. It’s difficult to comprehend how people can get to the main roads when the internal roads are in a state of disarray,” locals said.
The locals expressed their dissatisfaction with the concerned department’s failure to attend to the link roads, adding that despite many requests, their appeals go unheard.
“We are going to pillar to post for the macadamization of roads but our pleas are going unheard by the concerned department heads,” locals said.
Another local said that authorities have been claiming to make the city smarter for the past few years. “For that to happen, the government must first provide fundamental services such as proper road connectivity, clean drinking water, and sufficient energy to its residents”.
The residents urged concerned departments to come to their rescue and address the long pending developmental concerns of the area.
