Locals in Pachhar – Chandoosa area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have demanded construction of a play so that the talented youth of this area can prove their mettle in sports.
A group of youth in Pachhar village told Good Morning Kashmir that no space is available in their village for playing sports. “We have requested the concerned officials several times to demarcate a piece of land for a playground in our but to no avail,” they said.
” We are leading a confined life which is taking a heavy toll on our mental and physical health,” locals said, adding that there is a lot of talented youth in our village. They are excellent in sports like Cricket, Volleyball, and Football, but they fall short of a playground.
“Locals in our area are struggling to find a place where they can practice their games and excel in sports which is definitely a need of an hour,” said, Bashir Ahmad, a local resident.
“Due to non-availability of playground, our youth does not reach to state or national level as they have no facilities,” he said.
The residents including civil society has appealed LG Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and approve a separate playground for this village.
