In a significant recognition of his humanitarian work, renowned human rights activist Wajahat Farooq Bhat was honored by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, during the grand UT Diwas 2025 celebrations held at the SKICC in Srinagar.
The award was conferred upon Bhat for his exceptional and dedicated service in the field of youth empowerment and his tireless advocacy for the rights of thousands affected by terrorism in the region. His work has been instrumental in providing support and a voice to over 14,000 families of terror victims across Jammu and Kashmir.
Upon receiving the honor from LG Sinha, Bhat dedicated the award to the resilient youth and the victim families of the Union Territory. In his address, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to continue his endeavors for the causes of peace, justice, and empowerment for all citizens.
