A top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander among two militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight between government forces and militants at Check Sadiq area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.

Official sources said that two militants have been killed so far. Adding that the search operation is going on in the area.

Earlier, a police official told Good Morning Kashmir that the gunfight raged soon after a joint team of Army, CRPF and police cordoned the area following a tip off about the presence of militants there.
The hiding militants opened fire on the search party this triggering an encounter, he said.
