The incident dumped mud, boulders, and rubble across the carriageway, prompting authorities to impose traffic restrictions and launch immediate clearance operations. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), with support from local teams, deployed personnel and heavy equipment to clear the debris and reopen the blocked section.

Traffic flow was also hit near Jakhani and Dewal-Samroli, where vehicles were being regulated through intermittent halts, single-lane passages, and controlled access depending on the road’s condition.

Officials have appealed to travelers to exercise caution while passing through the affected areas and to refrain from making unnecessary trips until the highway is fully restored and declared safe for smooth movement. Motorists heading to Kashmir have been specifically advised to review the latest travel advisories before starting their journey and to stay vigilant while traversing landslide-vulnerable zones along the route.
