Residents of several parts of Pattan area on Tuesday complained that transportation shortages in various routes occur on a regular basis, preventing people from reaching their destinations on time.
The residents from Darweshbagh, Palpora, Pakipora and other adjacent parts complained about the transport dearth.
“I have to go for examination, unfortunately I have to walk by foot more than 2 kilometers from my village for getting a sumo, i could not reach to my destination on time,” said Showkat Ahmad, a local resident.
Employees, students, and people involved in business, they claim, are the hardest hit by the transportation shortage.
“Earlier sumo service was plying on Darweshbagh-Pattan route, but suddenly it was stopped,” said, a local resident, Irshad Ahmad.
Residents claim that these places have minimal amenities and that commuters face extreme problems due to a lack of adequate transportation.
Irshad Ahmad, an employee said he had to go from nihalpora every day and is frequently skipping important meetings due to transportation shortages.
“There should be a complete transportation policy, which appears to be nowhere,” he said.
Meanwhile, locals urge concerned authorities to provide transport facility from Pattan to these villages so the lack of transport woes will be over.
