People of Makhdoom Sahib area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district here continue to suffer for want of designated parking slot.
Haphazard parking results in frequent hindrances in smooth flow of traffic.
According to locals, lack of designated parking also causes immense hardships to devotees who visit Makhdoom Sahib Shrine.
“We have been running pillar to post for setting up parking facility here in Makhdoom Sahib. Due to lack of parking, our business has been affected,” said Firdous Ahmad Makhdoomi, a local resident.
“Designated parking slot here is important for the convenience of locals as well as visitors to avoid forcing people to park their vehicles on roadsides,” he said.
Traders in the area said that they have taken up the matter with authorities repeatedly but to no avail.
“This haphazard car parking leads to chaos here, Due to lack of parking, our business has been affected,” said Hilal Ahmad, another local resident of the area.
Locals demanded that authorities should work on the identification of place to be designated as parking spaces in Makhdoom Sahib.
