A delegation of residents from Bahrampora and its adjoining areas said that the lack of transportation has taken a heavy toll on office goers, students, and general public.

“I have to go for a medical check-up, unfortunately i have been walk 2 KM’s distance, to get a sumo of Hardushoora stand as no service of transport is plying on Bahrampora-Chukar route as usual daily basis.”, said Yaseen Ahmad , a local resident.

“Residents particularly women and patients are abandoned by the public transport here. We even tried to reach out to these operators but nothing has been done,” they said.

“The area has a huge population and a large number of commuters can be seen daily waiting for sumo at Boneshoora, adjacent villages,” they added.

“Earlier 4-5 sumos was plying on Kunzer-Chukar route, we want to know why the service has been stopped on this route, commuters of middle villages could not get a seat easily at Boneshoora and unable to reach their destinations on proper time,” said Shabir Ahmad Ganie.

Meanwhile, locals urge concerned authorities to resume sumo service from Kunzer to Pattan or Mini-bus service so the lack of transport woes will be over.
