“We demand the University authorities to stop this loot. The hostels were reopened in February last year after remaining closed for seven months due to shutdown imposed by the government. After winter vacations hostels were reopened and some students from 2018 got accommodation in the hostel and paid approximate Rs 40,000 each but after that there was Covid lockdown from March 22, 2020 and students had to vacate. We stayed in the hostels for hardly a month, even after that how can we pay such amount again that too in advance, ” the student said.
Registrar Kashmir University Dr Nissar was quoted as saying by KDC that the mess fee will be adjusted if student’s had paid it already, I’ll pass the necessary directions to hostel authorities tomorrow.
