TThe Army on Monday said the security situation was under control and there was nothing to worry about in the Kashmir valley.
General-Officer-Commanding (GOC) of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lieutenant General DP Pandey made these comments in response to a question about Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
“This is a playfield and I do not want to comment about the outsiders. But, remember, the security situation is under control in Kashmir and there is nothing to worry about,” Lt Gen Panday as per UNI told reporters on the sidelines of a sports event in Srinagar.
The GOC was the chief guest at the final cricket match of Kashmir Premier League tournament, which was played at S K Cricket stadium. He complimented the players for a wonderful performance in the Final.

Lt Gen Panday exhorted the youths to pick up sports and bring laurels for their villages and towns. The GOC also emphasised upon the importance of discipline in life as sportspersons across the world exhibit and expressed hope to see the next Neeraj Chopra, to emerge from Kashmir.
Former Indian Cricketer Yusuf Pathan’s presence in the final KPL match saw a great response from his fans in Kashmir valley.
Pathan complimented the teams and the organisers for a well-fought and conducted event. He appreciated the fact that 199 teams from all over Kashmir participated in the two-month long competition, which showed the amount of efforts the organisers had put in the conduct of the event.
