Authorities on Saturday issued a new weather alert for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting intense rainfall over the next 56 hours, along with potential cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides in multiple areas.

The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKUTDMA) stated that the affected districts may include Anantnag, Kulgam, parts of Central and North Kashmir, Doda, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba, and Udhampur.
“Residents in high-risk zones are urged to stay vigilant and take necessary safety measures. For emergencies, contact 112,” the advisory said.
Officials have also warned locals and commuters to avoid rivers, streams, and areas prone to landslides during the ongoing monsoon season.
