Kashmir braces for another wet spell from next week

After five days of bright sunshine, the weather office on Friday predicted intermittent mild wet spells in Jammu and Kashmir from next week.

After a bitter cold wave er earlier, Kashmir has witnessed dry weather for more than five days now with day temperatures hovering 15 to 18 degrees above normal in the summer capital Srinagar.

“There’s no forecast of any major rainfall activity till March 20. As of today, it looks like 70% chance of light to moderate rain /snow during March 21-23rd,” said a MeT official.

On Thursday, Srinagar recorded a high of 17.8 degree Celsius, 7.9 degrees above normal while the night temperature was 3.8 degrees.
