In the wake of a tragic incident that has drawn national attention and widespread concern, prominent social activist Jasib Shabir addressed the media today, calling for calm, compassion, and communal harmony. He strongly condemned the act of violence and appealed to the public not to view it through the lens of religion or regional identity.
“Kashmir and Muslims have nothing to do with this heinous act. Whoever has committed this crime is not a human being, but a wild animal,” Shabir stated emphatically. “This should not be seen through the lens of religion or region.”
Reaffirming Kashmir’s long-standing ethos of peace, love, and brotherhood, Shabir emphasized that the protests witnessed in the region were peaceful and driven by a collective sense of justice and solidarity.
“We are united in our condemnation of this act and request everyone not to communalize the incident. Such violence is against the spirit of Kashmiriyat,” he said.
In a poignant appeal to the Hindu community, Shabir urged pilgrims to continue the Amarnath Yatra without fear, assuring them of the full support of local Kashmiris.
“We request our Hindu brothers and sisters to continue their Amarnath Yatra with full faith and without fear. This is their religious journey, and they should complete it with peace of mind. The local people are with them and will continue to support them wholeheartedly,” he said.
