Residents of Iqbal Colony B in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have alleged lack of drainage facilities in their area.
The residents of the area which is located at a distance of just 1 km from town headquarters, said that the Colony lacks proper drainage facilities due to which the locals are facing lot of problems.
“Due to poor drainage system here in Iqbal Colony-B, we face a lot of problems. Hardly this will be 200 meters from the house of Gh Mohi-uD-Din Najar up to the house of Mohd Rafiq Bhat, but authorities are paying no attention towards this,” locals said.
Locals said that in times of emergency, locals have to bear the brunt.
The locals said despite being the nearest place of town headquarters, it has been neglected by the authorities.
Despite repeated requests to the concerned officials, no action was taken or a new drainage project sanctioned for the area, they said.
The people demanded that the concerned departments should take notice of their grievances and mitigate their sufferings.
