Indian soldier killed in cross LoC firing in Rajouri

An army man was killed in cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district, officials said Friday.

Pakistan troops on Friday opened fire upon Indian posts along the LoC in Nowshera sector of the border district, they said. Indian troops guarding the border mounted a befitting retaliation to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan troops.

In the cross-LoC firing, a solider identified as Naib Subedar Ravinder was critically injured.

The injured soldier was removed to the nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
