Srinagar: Tony Ashai, the President of Ashai Design Corporation – that creates high-end luxury environments for the elites in US, is in news from last couple of days.
Tony Ashai’s pictures with Bollywood stars has created a storm on social media. The controversy is over allegations that Tony Ashai was an agent of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The controversy even led to a BJP leader questioning Bollywood’s link with the ISI.
Tony Ashai, who Indian media claim is backed by the ISI, makes public statements and tweets on Kashmir.
BJP asks Bollywood to renounce its links with Pak ISI agents after pictures with ‘anti-India activists’ went viral.
Vice President of the BJP, Baijayant Panda, stated, “Came across shocking threads documenting personal & business links of some Bollywood personalities with certain Pakistanis & NRIs with undeniable track record encouraging violence in J&K, who have verifiable links to ISI & Pak army. I urge patriotic Bollywoodies to renounce them.”

“I have known @tonyashai since 2006. He has been like a friend to me. I don’t go on social media to check what someone is writing. All this came as a big revelation to me: Sonu Nigam, Singer tells Navika Kumar on Times Now.
To which Tony replied, “Exactly what I expected from Sonu Nigham, a man I respect. This is why I Never discuss my views on India s policy towards Kashmir with any of my Indian friends because I respect their feelings. @navikakumar I am anti BJP policies not anti India. Why is that hard to understand?”
As reports of Ashai headlined in the media, he took to Twitter and wrote, “This conspiracy theory that Indian media is peddling about me being an ISI agent is baseless. These journalists either put out a proof or apologize unconditionally. Short of that you will be sued individually in US Courts and will have to prove it there.”

“Because I take the charges of being a ISI agent seriously and I did not get apology, I have today directed my attorneys to proceed with the Law Suite which will be filed ASAP in California Superior Court. Stay tuned, we will now go after these Phoney journalists in India,” he tweeted.
