Scores of residents from Zehempora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Tuesday expressed resentment against PMGSY for failing to macadamize 5-kilometer link road from Zehempora to Pehlipora.
Despite being a vital road, the inhabitants said the road is in dilapidated condition and is craving for attention over the past decade.
“Potholes on the road are not only risking the lives of passengers but also have damaged our vehicles,” locals said.
Gh Mohd, a local resident of Manzgam said that the administration has failed to macadamize 5-kilometer road from Zehampora to Pehlipora. It is unfortunate that despite repeated pleas to them, they have turned deaf ears to our demands, he said.
“This road is dilapidated for the past many years as the government has neglected the vital road,” he said. Adding that it is deeply disappointing to see that despite the funds allocated for the construction of this road, the quality of work done by PMGSY is substandard.
The locals had many times appealed to the concerned authorities to macadamize the road, but things have remained unchanged on the ground.
“The administration is silent on the issue. Immediate steps should be taken, so that people will not suffer anymore,” they said.
The residents appealed to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha led the administration to look into the issue, so that problem will be resolved as soon as possible.
