Srinagar: Amid mounting anger, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar on Saturday visited the family members of the civilian who was killed after militants attacked the CRPF naka at Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
“IGP Kashmir along with other senior police officers visited the bereaved family of civilian who was killed during terror incident at Sopore. IGP condoled the family members and prayed for the departed soul,” tweeted Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Earlier, On Wednesday, A CRPF personnel and a civilian were killed in a militant attack in North Kashmir’s Sopore on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar had said that Lashkar-e-Toiba militants who were hiding in a mosque carried out the attack at a CRPF naka party at model town Sopore that led to the death of a CRPF man and a civilian while minor boy was rescued.
“There was no retaliation from the security forces’ side and it was later found that militants had left behind one full magazine and another one from which 30 bullets were used in the premises of a local mosque,” IGP had said earlier.
