Inhabitants of Nai Sadak locality of Habba Kadal area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar Tuesday complained that the area was reeling under acute water shortage for the past one week.
According to the locals, this was the worst bout of water scarcity that the village was facing in recent times.
“It is for the first time we are witnessing such a crisis,” Zubair Ahmad of Habba Kadal exclaimed.
“Whatever the reason for the shortage, the concerned department should have made arrangements for supplying drinking water through tankers but they don’t seem to be concerned,” he said.
They said that despite much representation to the concern department, nothing has been done so far. They said that the water shortage has created health problems in the locality as they are forced to drink unfiltered water.
The resident appealed to the authorities to redress their grievance at an earliest.
