Srinagar: Four militants were killed in a gunfight between militants and security forces in Pinjoora area of Shopian district on Monday.
Official sources said that, government forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Pinjora area of Shopian district after receiving specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said after militants fired upon a search party of the forces, the forces retaliated back.
Police said that four militants were killed in the encounter and the operation was underway.
