Gulmarg, other upper reaches receive fresh snow, rain lashes plains

Srinagar: The upper reaches in Kashmir experienced fresh snowfall on Saturday early morning, while the rains in plains brought temperatures several notches down.

The world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg, about 55km from here in north Kashmir, and other heights, including Affarwat Kongdori and Khilanmarg, witnessed fresh snowfall on Saturday early morning, resulting in drop in minimum temperature.

Fresh snowfall was also experienced at Gurez and other areas, particularly near Line of Control (LoC).

Weather in Kashmir turned cold since yesterday evening. The plains of the valley including Srinagar received rains. The dip in temperature forced people to put on winter clothes again.

MeT officials said that sky will remain partly cloudy and generally cloudy conditions would prevail till Monday in valley.
