Director Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K Subash C Chhibber and Joint Director Kashmir of the Department Waseem Raja rushed to the spot immediately after learning about the fire-catching incident in the Government College Of Physical Education (GCOPE) here.
While passing on the directions of assessing the losses, Director YSS said that this College is an important asset of the Department.
“Fortunately due to summer vacations being observed by colleges in the Kashmir division, classes were not operating in the Physical Education College but being a residential college employees of the college were present who truly deserve apperception for acting very smartly and actively in informing all the relevant quarters about the incident. Probably a display LED mounted on the front wall of the college might have developed short circuit.
Since it was raining some drops of rain might have entered the electronic device causing the incident. “We are very thankful to the firefighters of Fire and Emergency Services Ganderbal for putting in all the possible efforts in ensuring minimum damage to the newly constructed campus of the College at Gadoora Ganderbal,”
Dr Hartej Singh Principal of the College said. Adding that luckily only a hall located in the first floor of the main building has got partly damaged”.
