7FrAIP leader Firdous Baba on Sunday expressed gratitude to the Government of India for releasing ₹1,400 crore for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects in Jammu & Kashmir.

In a statement issued here, Baba, said that the release of funds comes as a major relief and will significantly expedite the completion of pending drinking water supply schemes across the Union Territory.
“Release of these funds has been made possible through the sustained efforts and persistent follow-up of Member of Parliament, Baramulla, Er. Rasheed, who consistently raised the issue before the concerned authorities to ensure that the projects do not suffer due to a shortage of funds,” Baba said.
He observed that a majority of the JJM projects in Jammu & Kashmir have already achieved nearly 80–90 percent physical progress. With the timely release of payments, the remaining works can now be completed at the earliest, enabling thousands of households to receive safe and reliable drinking water.
Firdous Baba welcomed the release of the payments and expressed hope that the concerned executing agencies would expedite the remaining works to ensure the benefits of the Jal Jeevan Mission reach every deserving household. He reiterated that access to clean drinking water is a basic necessity, and the completion of these projects will greatly improve the quality of life of the people across Jammu & Kashmir.
