Mohd Anwar Mir, a resident of Divar, Tral, passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. He had been battling cancer.
Mir was father of Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Editor-in-Chief of the weekly newspaper Victory of Kashmir.
The journalist fraternity expressed condolences with Fayaz Ahmad Mir and his family, extending support and solidarity to them during this difficult hour of grief.
Mohd Anwar Mir was remembered by those who knew him as a noble, humble and kind-hearted soul. His gentle nature and warm conduct had earned him respect and affection among people in Tral.
Javed Shah, Editor-in-Chief of Good Morning Kashmir, also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and expressed his support and solidarity with them.
Shah prayed to Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace and Jannah to the departed soul and give patience and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
