India has strongly criticized Pakistan at the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, calling it a failed state that survives on international aid.

Kshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, said it was unsurprising that Pakistan’s leaders continued to spread falsehoods propagated by their military-terrorist complex.

Reaffirming India’s stance, Tyagi emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, will always remain an integral part of India, citing the progress made in these regions.

“The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. The remarkable progress in J&K in recent years is a testament to the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy in a region long affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” Tyagi said.

He also criticized Pakistan for misusing the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to further its agenda.

“It is unfortunate that Pakistan continues to use the OIC as its mouthpiece while peddling baseless narratives dictated by its military-terrorist complex. This Council’s time is being wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and survives on international aid,” he added.

Tyagi urged Pakistan to shift its focus from India and address its internal challenges instead.

“India remains committed to democracy, development, and dignity for its people—values Pakistan would do well to learn from,” he said.

Tyagi’s remarks echoed those of India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, who on February 19 reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is, and will always be, an integral part of India. Speaking at the UN Security Council’s Open Debate on Multilateralism and Global Governance Reform, Harish condemned Pakistan’s misinformation campaigns.

“The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan referred to an integral and inalienable part of India, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in his remarks. I would like to reaffirm that Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India,” Harish said.
