Srinagar: Director animal and sheep husbandry, Abdul Salaam Mir on Saturday declined army’s offer to purchase 129 Kanal’s of land in Tapper village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“We have received the official comminique from army on Friday, the land in which they have showed interest belongs to our department, we can’t sell it, we need it for our own department,” said Director Sheep Husbandry, Abdul Salaam Mir to Good Morning Kashmir.
“I was on tour, On Monday i will send a written letter to army that our department is not interested in your offer,” he added.
Earlier, the Army has requisitioned the district administration Baramulla to sell 129 kanal of lands to it at Tapper in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district for accommodating soldiers.
In an official communiqué, the army has written to department to sell 129 kanal land at Tapper, Pattan to it citing “some of its troopers are temporarily stationed there for some time now.”
The official communiqué of army reads: “Some troops of this unit are temporarily in your land at Kreeri high school, near Tapper village. Whether you (Baramulla administration) wishes to sell land to the Indian army.” The army has sought reply by the May 30. 2020.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner Baramulla, Dr. GN Itoo on being contacted told Good Morning Kashmir that, he has not received any official letter from army.
“This is the matter between army any the concerned department, deputy commissioner has nothing to do with this,” DC Baramulla, G N Itoo said.
