There is a lot of competition among the youth nowadays as far as academics is concerned. Students in our valley work hard to score good marks in their respective subjects. For some students, it has become a trend whereas others work hard to gain excellence in the educational field. There are many youngsters in Kashmir who really want to score good numbers and for that purpose, they are willing to sacrifice their health and mental peace. Youngsters in Kashmir go through higher levels of stress during exams. Though the exam season brings a lot of sadness and anxiety into the lives of students both the intelligent and average have to deal with it. They become restless when exams are near. This has caused numerous health problems like eye disease, heart problems, and mental imbalances in many youngsters. Though deadlines are given to students before exams, they still seem restless. There are students who get so obsessed with tests that they don’t sleep at night risking their mental health. In Kashmir, youngsters are often seen studying 24 /7 to complete the Syllabus which is quite stressful. They don’t even take enough breaks due to the burden. The worst part is that they don’t know about time management because no one has taught them to make a timetable. There are only a few who study only for 2-3 hours. This way of studying provides relief to students. As far as small children are concerned they get exam fever more quicker. Sometimes due to the lengthy syllabus, they fail to study properly. They also fear that they might fail in their subjects. Parents and teachers both pressurize the children which diminishes confidence in kids. We have seen parents warning their children to get top ranks at any cost. They force their children which later on affects their well-being. When they pass exams, they are appreciated and the moment they fail they are taunted each second. It affects self-esteem to prepare for future tests. Students who are pressurized to pass the tests at any cost damage their prestige. In the obsession for scoring numbers, some students even dare to cheat. They choose the wrong way of passing the tests. Some students have committed suicide also as they didn’t want to embarrass their parents and teachers. The students must also focus on time management and concentrate on their studies. They must be patient while studying and not rush into books. Topics must be understood well to score better marks in the future. In classrooms, the students should concentrate well so that later on they don’t have a lot of burdens. Hence, teachers must be very gentle towards the children and must not burden them too much. The students must take breaks while studying and eat well so that they can remain fit and healthy during the exams. The education department must not be too strict with the students. Furthermore, the syllabus must be limited so that the average students manage to study without strain. This will strengthen the bond between the educational institutions and the students.
