Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Police on Friday arrested Former Congress MLA Neeraj Bharti on charges of sedition on Friday. Bharti was booked for his questionable social media posts over the Galwan valley face-off where 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives.
According to media reports, Bharti had posted some comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and made some observations about the recent face-off between India and China at Galwan Valley in Ladakh in social media, after which a complaint was lodged against him.
According to the police, Shimla-based advocate Narendra Guleria approached the police on June 20 alleging that Bharti had tried to incite “hatred and treason” by using “objectionable and inflammatory” language.
