According to official sources, the accused individuals had infiltrated what was otherwise a peaceful demonstration by students and proceeded to create serious law and order disturbances, including acts of vandalism that led to damage to public property.

“Sopore Police continue to take swift and targeted action against all those involved,” a police spokesperson said, adding that 13 more miscreants have been identified in connection with the incident. “Efforts are underway to apprehend them at the earliest. Raids and search operations shall continue till all such elements are brought to justice.”

Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy toward those attempting to exploit sensitive situations, Sopore Police stated that anyone involved in creating disorder will face firm and lawful action, and no one will be spared.

The police have also thanked local residents for their cooperation. “Sopore Police appreciate the continued cooperation and support extended by the people of Sopore in maintaining peace and order, and urge all citizens to remain vigilant and continue assisting law enforcement agencies.”

Authorities reaffirmed that in coordination with peace-loving citizens, they remain committed to maintaining peace, security, and normalcy across the district.
