Eid-Ul-Fitr will be celebrated on 22 April 2023 closing the holy month of Ramadhan. Muslims who refrained from eating food will break the Eid fast hopefully. It is good news that people in the valley have made all the preparations and are excited for the upcoming Eid. This festival brings people closer to each other. It gives us a chance to spend time with family, friends, relatives, and neighbors. On this occasion, Muslims exchange hugs and blessings. Even the enemies reconcile and become friends. Sweets and Wazwan is served to the guests whereas some people serve tea or saffron Kehwa. People dress up for Eid prayers early in the morning to thank Allah for giving them the strength to observe the fast. Many women decorate their houses to welcome the Eid guests. The light of the incense sticks and its aroma spreads everywhere. People in the valley put on new clothes of various styles and patterns. Men in the valley prefer kurta salwar. They also wear different perfumes whereas women apply different designs of heena on hands and feet. Children wear glittering dresses and rush to the markets for further celebrations. They buy toys and eat delicious food from the Eidi that is given by elders. Gifts are exchanged with each other to bring smiles on the faces of people. On the eve of Eid, how can we forget Charity? Muslims from grounded families think beyond celebrating Eid. They make sure that everyone participates in the Eid festivities and that nobody is left out. When everyone is busy in celebrating the festival, some people are struggling to collect funds for needy people. They give their precious time in making food and clothing packages to help the weaker sections of the community. Eid-Ul-Fitr is not only about wearing costly brands and eating good food but it aims at helping, orphans, poor relatives, and neighbors. We must also support disabled people to receive Allah’s mercy and for inner satisfaction. We appreciate youngsters who have distributed food items in hospitals during the entire month Ramadhan phase. We hope they will continue their good work and set a great example for others. Furthermore, we request everyone to follow the covid guidelines to remain safe from the virus. Our Team wishes you a bright, safe, and happy Eid. May this Eid foster brotherhood and unity among the people of the valley.
