Health is wealth, yes, health is wealth, so to keep people in good health, the LG administration has taken marvellous initiatives to achieve a drug-free society and to bring back the peddlers on the right track. Nowadays our valley is witnessing the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyhan” or drug-free campaigns that have been started eagerly by the Government from Sept 1 and will flag off on the 30th of September. These campaigns have been spread across all districts of our valley including schools, colleges and university campuses. The main objective of these campaigns is to spread awareness among teenagers and adults. Nowadays youth is facing a lot of social and economic pressures which push them into drugs. The current Government intends to educate all people in the valley to educate them about the harm caused by drugs. The administration has guaranteed to set up many rehabilitation centres in different parts of the valley. It also ensures to rehabilitate around 6 lac drug peddlers till 2023 hopefully.

The LG administration has played a marvellous role by setting up these campaigns at different places to educate teenagers and youth to keep them away from drugs. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the menace of drug addiction is widespread in our valley. Keeping this in view the youth of our valley should be directed towards sports. Youngsters should be encouraged to participate in games to build a positive attitude towards life. Sports reduce stress and develop an overall personality. Sports reduce the intake of harmful substances and keep us mentally and physically fit. It also keeps disease at bay and leads the youth to optimism and self-confidence.

More and more youngsters from our valley should be involved in sports to avoid drugs in the near future. Lieutenant Governor has given an ultimate deadline of setting up rehabilitation centres up to the 30th of September across the valley. LG administration has put in great efforts to eradicate the social evils existing in society. After reducing corruption from the valley, the next target is to eradicate the existence of drugs from every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir UT.
