The residents of Gariend Wahabpora area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district are up arms against the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department as bad road condition Erick’s locals.
The dilapidated roads, ridden with potholes, are not only causing inconvenience to commuters but pedestrians as well those living in the vicinity of major roads.
”This was the road built decades ago, and since then it is a victim of official neglect. The work on the road is going on for the last two years, but unfortunately the concerned agency is yet to finish the work on the road,” Mushtaq Ahmad, a local resident said.
“We suffer as the road is changed into potholes where people prefer walking instead of travelling in a Vehicle. we have every time disappointed due to wrong assurance,” another local told Good Morning Kashmir.
According to locals, the concerned authorities are not paying heed to the problem despite the hue and cry.
“We have many times requested the authorities, but ironically nothing has been done on the ground level,” they said.
They urged senior functionaries in the administration to direct the concerned department to repair the road immediately in order to avoid any untoward incident.
