Depression is difficult to determine but it’s a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and a loss of interest. Also called a major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave, and even can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities and sometimes you may feel as if life is not worth living. It’s often said that depression results from a chemical imbalance but that figure of speech does not capture how complex the disease is.

Although we can be flexible with everyday language, when we talk seriously about depression and sadness we must be careful. Depression is a mental health problem that can have different degrees of severity, some of them very serious and disabling. The amazing thing about various studies isn’t that depression affects so many people, it’s that even people who are struggling with it have fallen victim to the stigma. Many believe that depression is a matter of decreased mental fortitude rather than a real medical problem.

There are many areas of the person’s life that must be considered in order to conclude that they are suffering from depression, beyond the simple relationship we tend to establish between depression and sadness.

It can happen for a number of reasons:

Some people have depression during a serious medical illness.
Some people may have depression with life changes such as moving or the death of a loved one.
Still, others have a family history of depression.
People who are elderly are at higher risk of depression. That can be made worse by other factors such as living alone and having a lack of social support.
Nearly 30% of people with substance misuse problems also have major or clinical depression.

If it is serious, it is advisable to go to a professional psychologist who can offer different types of help within the framework of psychotherapy itself. Unfortunately for many people, this is still very difficult: according to the World Health Organization, there are currently more than 300 million people suffering from depression in the world and not all of them have access to proper treatment.

Even if drugs or alcohol temporarily make you feel better, they ultimately will aggravate depression. However, the syndrome of clinical depression is just a response to stressful life events.

The most common reasons for anxiety and depression are: Stress, Brain Chemistry, traumatic events or environmental factors. Being depressed can make feel helpless. Along with therapy and sometimes medication ,there’s a lot a person can do on his own to fight back. Changing behavior, physical activities, lifestyle and even way of thinking are all natural depression treatments. In fight against depression; a lot of the work is mental changing how a person thinks when a person is depressed, he leaps to the worst possible conclusions. Whenever a person feels depressed or terrible about himself and has negative thoughts like suicide that’s not going to be end of problems or harming himself is going to make him feel more pain. It’s better to use logic as a natural depression treatment. Its wiser to connect with someone and talk it out.

Lighten up, Sunshine boosts mood. Mindful meditation is a natural mood booster technique used to release stress from the body ,put mind in released state, reduce blood cholesterol levels and anxiety. If a person doesn’t feel comfortable, try to do something that makes one feel relaxed and released. Talk to someone to lighten your mood, if there’s no one who understands you, try to follow some hobby, go for a walk, talk to yourself, introspect. Don’t let negative energy bother you. Try to remain calm, if you think things are not going your way. Take your time. Don’t bother about what people think or say about you, one can’t change their perception. Remember life is one; live every chance out of it. Do what makes you happy and delighted. Always be your own Master.

Lastly, I would like to sum up by quoting following lines of KATE MIDDLETON;

“A child’s mental health is just as important as their physical health and deserve the same quality of support. No one would feel embarrassed about seeking help for a child if they broke their arm.”
