No doubt we are living in a scientific and technological era. It is evident that man has explored outer space to a greater extent, but a common man seems to enjoy the materialistic world. Our youth is particularly following the ways and means to become materialistic. It is the educational system which plays a pivotal role in revolutionising the world. Education explores means and ways of earning a livelihood, which ultimately leads to prosperity. In our system there is a definite/limited set of goals for our educated youth. It is not possible for each and every educated youth to achieve their goals. All the parents are desirous that their children may come up to their expectations, and they put all their efforts into the success of their children. They mostly want their children to get government jobs, particularly in the field of science and engineering. However, the field is limited, so it is dead impossible for all the educated youth to come into the field, which ultimately leads to the depression.

Depression is not simply a feeling of sadness or a temporary low mood; it is a deep and persistent condition that affects the way a person thinks, feels and lives. It is one of the most common mental health disorders, yet it remains widely misunderstood. Depression is often invisible to others and quietly settles into a person’s daily life, making even the simplest tasks feel heavy and exhausting.

Some common symptoms of depression:
Depression can look different from person to person; however, some common symptoms include:
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities.
  • Difficulty in concentrating or making decisions.
  • Persistent sadness, emptiness or numbness,
  • Changes in sleep patterns
  • Hopelessness about the future
  • Feeling of worthlessness
  • Fatigue or lack of energy

Some other physical symptoms may include headaches, digestive issues or chronic pain with no clear medical cause. Depression can grow from many different struggles. Pressure from school, fear of failure, family problems, loss of relationships or feeling like one is not good enough can slowly build into emotional pain. Social media and constant comparison can also make individuals feel as if everyone else is living a happier and more successful life, deepening feelings of self-doubt and isolation. Over time, these feelings can make a person lose confidence in themselves and their future.

Remedies:
  • Talking to someone you trust: Sharing feelings with a trusted friend, family member, or teacher reduces emotional pressure.
  • Seeking professional help: Mental health professionals such as psychologists, counsellors, or doctors are trained to help people manage depression.
  • Maintaining a daily routine: Following a simple daily routine helps bring stability to life. Regular sleeping, studying, and relaxing.
  • Physical activity and exercise: Exercise helps release chemicals in the brain that improve mood and reduce stress. Activities like walking, cycling, yoga, or playing sports can help improve emotional stability.

For many years not only parents but also society believed that getting a stable and prestigious job is the ultimate goal of education and hard work. Parents, elders and teachers often encourage rather than compel young people to study well in order to secure a safe and respectable position/job. Job is not the only path to success. Entrepreneurship is a powerful way to build a career, create opportunities and bring innovation to society. Entrepreneurship allows individuals to create something of their own and encourages innovation and problem-solving strategies.

Entrepreneurs introduce new ideas in business and create employment opportunities for others and can turn their dreams into reality. Entrepreneurs not only benefit the economy but also inspire others to think creatively and independently. It is the call of the time that parents should suggest their children involve themselves actively in entrepreneurship without wasting their prestigious time so that they can live independently without taking any sort of burden on their minds like depression and support not only their family but also revolutionise the society.
