The residents of north Kashmir’s village Mamoosa, Pattan area of Baramulla district on Tuesday expressed anguish over the lack of electricity poles in the area.
Local residents of Mirpora, Mamoosa accused PDD of putting the lives of residents in risk by not aligning the power transmission wires on the electric poles.
“The electricity wires can be seen hanging from the wooden sticks and tree branches and the concerned department is taking no steps to align the wires on the iron-made electric poles,” the residents said, adding that the power supply wires are posing a severe danger to the lives of people of the area.
“The wires laying low on trees, and sticks, anytime untoward can happen and the onus will lie on the concerned department,” said, Mohammad Aameen, a local resident.
The residents also complained that the electric wires have damaged at various places in the area.
“These power transmission wires have been connected temporarily and sudden fast-moving wind can break them up,” the residents said, adding the PDD has failed to replace these wires.
Meanwhile, the residents sought the intervention of Chief Engineer PDD in this regard.
