India on Saturday recorded 62,258 new positive cases of COVID-19, pushing the country caseload to 1,12,95023.

The country witnessed 291 deaths, mounting the death toll to 1,60,949, as per the Union health ministry update on Saturday morning.
The active cases rose by 30,386 to stand at 4,52,647. It is now 3.80 per cent of the total caseload.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 23,97,69,553 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Out of this, 11,64,915 were tested in the past one day.
