In the modern world human beings are very competitive in every field. As far as our valley is concerned young boys and girls wish to achieve their career goals at any cost. Parents invest lots of money in the education of their children and want them to live up to their expectations. Youngsters avoid sleeping at night just to prepare for competitive exams. Sometimes they skip meals to give them more time to study. Neither do they go for outings nor do they take part in physical activities. In this process, they lose themselves. It affects their psychological and physical health in the long run. Their perception of life changes completely. They feel that qualifying exams is the end of this world not knowing that there is a bright future ahead. Believe us these youngsters have no vision to see things differently. There is a trend that is going on in our valley that boys and girls have to qualify for competitive exams and for that, they must do anything. This creates a lot of pressure on the youngsters. They often panic when the results are near as if there is nothing left for them. It is quite heart-wrenching that again a young girl ended her life because she didn’t qualify for the UPSC. The sad news has given shivers down our spine as she was the only daughter of her parents. She didn’t even care to give a thought that life is more beautiful than the small tests in life. We can’t imagine how she could leave her parents for a single exam and forgot how they brought her up taking all the pains. She should have discussed it with the family but she gave up too early. Just because we have failed to qualify for one test doesn’t mean that we are failures in life. We must be too strong to face any test at any time and never give up on things. Many students go into depression because they can’t cope with the situation. They fear what society may think of them if they don’t make it but in reality, the society doesn’t care. You have many chances in life where you can’t prove your mettle. We often have exam stress and we worry a lot about what happens since the is the feeling of tension and worry that comes from test-taking situations. We must take future tests easily and not get too stressed. Parents and teachers can play an important role in counseling youngsters to not attempt suicide and take challenges positively. It will definitely bring a big difference in their lives.
