Common Man in Quandary

Eid-ul-Fitr is the most precious festival celebrated soon after the month of Ramadhan. This year people in the valley are ready to make all the preparations with great enthusiasm. Eid is approximately nine days away but a huge rush of people is seen outside confectioneries, butchers, and grocery shops. Markets are bustling and tempt millions of consumers by displaying their products. The buyers are attracted to the latest varieties of food, clothing, and colorful bakery on this festival. Moreover, parents along with their children are buying garments, footwear, and toys for the upcoming Eid. Though it is a good thing to shop for this festival, but at the same time we have to keep in mind the poor families. The markets have become venom for the common man. Shopkeepers are running their shops for gaining profit and taking advantage of the poor public. They are selling the same items at different rates looting the general public. Markets have become too expensive for indigent people. The poor man is in quandary. We are so selfish to feel the pain of others. A candle burns itself by giving light to others is the best example to realize that every person deserves to live fully. It is our responsibility to make arrangements before Eid for the sake of Allah. We must make sure that every family enjoys this Eid. Youngsters must create groups and distribute food items and clothing at a local level. Shopkeepers on their level must keep discounts on groceries which are daily food items. They must do justice to consumers. We are thankful to the concerned authorities for conducting raids on food items in markets. The department must keep fixed rate lists so that the consumers are not deceived and the public does not suffer. We hope the administration will control the skyrocketing prices so that poor families find relief on the eve of Eid.
