Coaching centres over the last five years have come up in every nook and corner of the valley. The private education industry has become very big and has glamourised it like anything. Present day a student not enrolled in any lucrative coaching centre is considered as an old-fashioned entity. The advancement in this field of education has brought with it both good and the ugly, and the noble cause which was the basic ingredient has taken a back seat and money-minting and large-scale commercialization has taken over giving it a bad name. The so-called coaching centres are looting money from students in the name of providing better education facilities. Students across the valley are tempted to study in these institutes and insist their parents for admission at any cost. Education is hope for millions to make a quality change for generations to come. Living with ignorance is living life nothing more than that of an animal. There is one more craze nowadays, i.e., these institutions want merit students in their classes so that they can attract others. They also announce some awards and rewards for those who make good progress. Some City based e-institutions have the habit of advertising the students’ photos in leading newspapers stating that so and so as scores cent per cent in the particular exams. Children believe that if they study in these institutes they will achieve their goals. In fact, teachers nowadays are being used by coaching institutes as well as schools as the marketing persons to bring in new admission and that is spoiling the very name of the noble profession. Children are themselves responsible for giving credibility to these coaching centres. It has become a medium of earning money. They don’t care whether a student scores good marks or not. All they want is to give a blow to education.
