Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday to discuss key issues, including the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, officials reported.
The meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister’s residence, lasted approximately 30 minutes. This marked their first interaction since the April 22 terror strike that claimed the lives of 26 people, most of whom were tourists.
According to officials, CM Omar apprised the PM of the ground situation in Kashmir, emphasizing the widespread public anger and spontaneous protests that erupted across UT in response to the Pahalgam attack.
CM also commended the bravery of Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a pony ride operator who lost his life attempting to disarm a terrorist in a bid to shield tourists.
The discussions also covered the impact of the attack on thriving tourism industry and preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
