Now that the summer is at its peak , the administration should focus to the dilapidated condition of the city roads. The majority of the city roads are now craving for immediate attention of the the concerned department. The roads in Srinagar are in bad shape, mostly in the old city part of Srinagar, even though the roads in upper areas of the city are also in the same condition. Due to the bad condition of roads in City, the people are suffering immensely, while as the condition of private vehicles only deteriorates with every passing day. The LG led administration must start repairing and macadamization of the roads now that the summer is at its peak. There is a need for making travellers daily travels a bit easier, and smooth, which is as of now bumpy.

The road from Qamarwari to Bypass is also in a bad condition. Big pot holes can be seen in the middle of the road, making commuting a daring job. The condition is worse right from the Jhelum river towards Qamarwari Chowk. Another road connecting the area to the Bemina crossing is also in its worst condition. The bad condition of roads, not only gives the commuters a tough time, but it also consumes a lot of their time in reaching from one place to another. The condition of the road in Batamaloo, just few metres before the Fire Services Headquarters is also known to everyone, the authorities have not bothered to repair the damaged road. Same can be seen in the localities like Rajbagh and Barzulla where the roads filled with huge potholes. Apart from taking care of city roads, there is also a need for cleaning lanes in Lal Chowk to provide foul less walk. The administration and other concerned departments must make sure that the drains and lanes are kept cleaned and are maintained .
