Inhabitants of Chukar, Dangerpora and Dandoora area of north Kashmir’s Pattan urged the district administration to start macadamization of link road from Chukar to Dandoora.
The aggrieved residents told Good Morning Kashmir that authorities are not paying due attention towards the link road due to which the people living in the locality are facing inconvenience.
A local Yasir Ahmad said that they fail to understand why the concerned department has left the important stretch unattended and added, “despite several requests, their pleas are going unheard”.
The residents alleged that this link road has been left without macadamization, adding that, we want to know what has stopped the administration from upgrading the road for years.
“We requested the R&B department for the macadamization of the stretch many times, but unfortunately nothing happened,” they said.
The people have urged the concerned authorities to macadamize the road at the earliest so that they will not face further problems.
” There are potholes everywhere. The government goes for blacktopping every year but is not paying any heed towards this road. One fails to understand how people can reach their destination on time, when the road is in shambles,” another local said.
Zubair Ahmad, a college student of the area said, “We are facing problems in summer as well as during winters. During summers, it’s the dust that causes inconvenience and during winters it’s the water.”
The residents of the area have urged the higher officials to look into the matter and macadamize the road at the earliest.
