The dilapidated condition of Check Sari – Sonim road is causing immense hardships to the commuters and pedestrians as the government has not undertaken any repair work on this road since years, not to speak of macadamization.
Despite being a vital road, the inhabitants said the road is in dilapidated condition and is craving for attention over the past decade.
“Last year (2021) many roads got macadamized; however, this road which connects Check Sari with Sonim is in a very bad condition and dotted with huge potholes and bumps due to which the commuters are facing tremendous inconvenience,” locals said.
“The vehicles have to move at snail’s pace in order to avoid the potholes and bumps,” said Zahoor Ahmad, a local resident of Check Sari.
Ahmad said that during rainfall, the potholes get filled with water and thus making the pedestrian movement very difficult.
Locals told GMK that if the concerned authorities of R&B department don’t take urgent steps to carry out the repairs and macadamization on the road, they will block the moment of the traffic on the main road to protest against the concerned authorities.
The residents appealed to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha led administration and Chief Engineer R&B to look into the issue, so that problem will be resolved as soon as possible.
