A wild bear was caught alive on Tuesday after injuring a 68-year-old man in Pethzanigam area of Beerwah in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said.
Official sources said that a man identified as Ali Mohammad Wani, son of Ghulam Qadir Wani was attacked by a bear when he was doing some work in an orchard.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital wherefrom he was referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.

An official from the wildlife department told Good Morning Kashmir that they received information from Pethzanigam area regarding an attack by a bear in which a man was injured. “We immediately sent our team in the area to start an operation,” he said.
He said that the bear fell into a well after attacking the man, adding that soon after the team arrived at the spot, the animal was rescued from the well and was captured alive.
The official said that the bear is being taken to Dachigam.
